REMOTE MONITORING: A SINGLE AUTHORIZATION FROM THE ITL IS SUFFICIENT
With Note No. 4757 dated May 26, 2025, the Italian National Labour Authority (INL) provides operational guidance regarding the issuance of authorizations under Article 4 of Law No. 300/1970 (commonly known as the Workers’ Statute).
Specifically, it clarifies that companies with multiple production units located within the jurisdiction of the same territorial office of the INL (even if in different provinces) may submit a single application to the Territorial Labour Authority (ITL) for the installation of video surveillance systems or other tools that may result in remote monitoring of workers. This applies in cases where no agreement has been reached with the company’s internal union representatives (RSA/RSU), or where such representatives are absent. The single authorization, once granted, will be valid for all the production units involved, provided they fall under the same territorial jurisdiction of the INL.
