ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN THE WORLD OF WORK: THE MINISTRY ADOPTED GUIDELINES FOR ITS IMPLEMENTATION
Decree of the Ministry of Labor No. 180 of 17 December 2025 has adopted the “Guidelines for the implementation of Artificial Intelligence in the world of work”, which form an integral part of the decree itself and are subject to monitoring and updates by the Observatory on the adoption of artificial intelligence systems in the world of work.
The guidelines are aimed at promoting the informed adoption of AI in work contexts by protecting workers' rights, promoting sustainable innovation and ensuring compliance with current regulations.
Based primarily on the AI Act (EU Regulation 2024/1689) and Law No. 132 of 23 September 2025 (Provisions and powers delegated to the Government regarding artificial intelligence), the guidelines provide extremely practical and concrete recommendations for:
- companies and SMEs, outlining a six-step roadmap for adopting AI in business processes;
- self-employed workers, highlighting practical tools that facilitate the adoption of AI without discrimination;
- training and skills development strategies in the field of AI;
- the main economic benefits available through funding and incentives for the adoption of AI in companies, training and retraining of workers, as well as protection for workers at risk of automated replacement;
- the development of a comprehensive and transparent mapping of all AI systems used at work in the company and independently, in order to identify and manage the risks of their use.
